Full Week Registration - 2023 Autumn Clay Camp

Kids have the week off but you don’t? Send them to Verge to learn all about clay! Each session will introduce campers to the basics of hand-building, proper use of tools, and adding vibrant colors with paint. You have the option to send your camper to all 3 days or pick the days that work best for you!

We will fire all of the ceramic pieces made by your camper and you will be notified via email when they are ready for pick up. We will try our best to have all pieces completed before the holidays, but cannot guarantee a completion date.

DATES: November 20th-22nd

TIME: 10:00am-3:00pm (drop off between 9:30-10:00, pickup between 3:00-3:30)

Slab Self-Portraits/Wall Hangings

Make a self-portrait using clay! Campers will cover shapes and symmetry to represent themselves on a slab of clay. Instructors will introduce campers to scoring and slipping techniques for proper assemblage. The activity will conclude with painting the self-portraits.

Plates and Platters

Make your own ceramic plates and platters! This class will teach campers how to mold slabs of clay into plates and dishes for serving. Campers will then engrave unique designs and finish off their plates with colorful paints.

Wheel Throwing/Pinch and Coil Pots

Learn how to make your very own vessel with pinch pots and coil pots! Campers will learn these two techniques and have the option to make a bowl on the pottery wheel. All formed vessels will be painted.

Cancellation and Refunds Policy

Verge Center for the Arts reserves the right to cancel classes, to change instructors, and to make other changes that may become necessary to ensure a quality experience for participants. In the event that a class is canceled, we will contact all registrants and offer the option of transferring to another available session, or receiving a full refund.

If a participant wishes to withdraw from a class, they must do so in writing at least seven days prior to the first class meeting to receive a full refund, less a $25 processing fee. Withdrawals occurring within seven days prior to the first class meeting will receive a refund of 50 percent of the total class fee. No refunds are given to withdrawals that occur 24 hours before the class begins. Transfers are not accepted after a class begins. Membership fees are non-refundable. Please note we are unable to issue cash refunds.
