Print the Legacy: A Black History Poster Workshop

Celebrate Black History Month by learning the art of screen printing while honoring Black culture and history. This hands-on workshop offers participants the unique opportunity to experience the creative and collaborative process of mass production while creating meaningful art. Together, we’ll design and produce a Black History-inspired poster, which will be available through the Verge Store as part of a special fundraising initiative.

What Participants Will Gain:

  • Hands-On Screen Printing Experience: Learn the fundamentals of screen printing, including design preparation, setting up the press, and executing prints.
  • Community Collaboration: Work as a team to create a visually stunning, culturally significant poster.
  • Skills in Production: Gain insight into the process of mass-producing art pieces, an essential skill in professional printing.
  • Creative Empowerment: Use art to share and celebrate stories of resilience, empowerment, and history.

How It Works:

  • Buy-In: Participants pay a workshop fee that includes all materials, tools, and instruction.
  • Production Process: Each participant will contribute to the production of a limited run of high-quality posters.
  • Fundraiser: Each participant will leave with an edition of the poster while the remaining posters will be available in the Verge Store as a limited edition "pay what you wish" item. All donations generated from the poster will go directly towards supporting a Sacramento cultural organization.

Why Join?
This workshop is more than a class—it’s a way to actively engage in Black History Month through the power of art and community. Participants will leave not only with new skills and knowledge but also with the pride of knowing their work contributes to a meaningful cause.
