Shared Fire: A Raku Workshop & Potluck

Discover the dynamic world of Raku ceramics and join us for an immersive, hands-on ceramics workshop that combines the art of clay hand-building with the exciting process of raku firing. This engaging experience is perfect for artists, makers, and curious beginners eager to explore form, texture, and transformation through fire.

Throughout the workshop, participants will explore creative hand-building techniques—shaping, coiling, paddling, and refining their own ceramic forms. On the final evening, we’ll come together for a dramatic raku firing session: a fast-paced and visually striking process where red-hot ceramics are removed from the kiln and placed into combustible materials, producing distinctive, smoky, and crackled finishes.

The workshop concludes with a celebratory night-time “Raku Party” and potluck, where friends and family are invited to join in the festivities. Participants will leave with unique, raku-fired ceramic pieces and a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of clay, fire, and creative process.

WHEN: June 20, 21, 27, & 28 | 2 - 5 pm; *last class will be at 6 - 9 pm
